The Scream 1893

Massive Spring cleaned my room today and found this long lost Edvard Munch poster with the following passage, just thought i would share this with you before i toss it in the trash... paper will decompose but beautiful paintings and words will live on forever

I was walking along a path with two friends
the sun was setting
I felt a breath of melancholy
Suddenly the sky turned blood-red
I stopped and leant against the railing, deathly tired
looking out across flaming clouds that hung
like blood and a sword over the deep blue fjord and town My friends walked on
I stood there trembling with anxiety
and felt a great, infinite scream pass through nature.

Yeah... the passage was a shortened version of what this tormented artist felt that inspired him to do the painting. He did 4 versions of the same painting due to this experience.
His psyche was very much tormented and it does show in his works.
